MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID (MHFA) IS AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED TRAINING COURSE, DESIGNED TO TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO SPOT THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF MENTAL ILL HEALTH AND PROVIDE QUALIFIED HELP ON A FIRST AID BASIS. 

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN? 

• To feel confident in helping someone experiencing a mental health problem by assisting on a first aid basis
• To be aware of and understand the signs of mental health issues, and be able to support by listening non-judgementally

• To help to guide someone towards the right support and networks

Session OneWhat is mental health and mental health first aid?
Session Two: Depression and suicidal crisis
Session Three: Anxiety, personality disorders, eating disorders and self-harm

Session Four: Psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar and wellbeing recovery 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

It is ideal for all employees but particularly those who manage teams, work within a people function, a current physical first aider, or are working in an end-user or customer facing role. 

WHAT QUALIFICATION DO YOU GET? 

Everyone who attends the course will receive a copy of the MHFA manual and workbook. All delegates who complete the two-day training will receive an MHFA certificate to confirm you are a trained and qualified Mental Health First Aider. 

Please note that the course is two full days and requires full attendance on both days.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

No.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Our office is a 7 minute walk away from Manchester Piccadilly Train Station. The nearest Metrolink tram stations are Market Street or Piccadilly Gardens and are on average a five minute walk from our office on Fountain Street. The nearest car park is the NCP on New York Street.
