Lightbulb's Trailblazing Women in Investment Report
Lightbulb’s new report and research shows it would be a game changer for societies and economies with more women in investment. And yet only 8% of senior women globally occupy senior investment roles! Author of the report, Fiona McKay shares some of her findings and asks ‘What would the world look like if more women controlled the money?’.
The report shows it will be critical to have more women post pandemic in investment roles, and by doing so it will enable societies and economies to build a more equitable and lucrative world.
And for the women currently in investment, they are delivering returns that goes way beyond the balance sheet.
Here’s some of the findings:
Women can spot a growth market - female-led sectors such as FemTech, where the founders and investors are predominantly women, is forecast to be worth $50bn by 2025.
Women deliver higher margins: Listed firms, where at least one-third of its senior team, have been found to have profit margins 10 times greater than those without.
Women are aligned behind ESG: ESG and impact investing is predicted to surge as consumers and investors increasingly hold companies accountable for their performance on ESG benchmarks. This market is currently 60% weighted towards women.
The report also highlights the barriers women in investment face, explores the opportunities presented by fostering more diverse talent in the sector, and celebrates ten trailblazers from both sides of the Atlantic, who are making an impact.
