Entrepreneur Fiona McKay lives in Sale, and travels the globe giving talks to large audiences.

With planes grounded and much of travel halted her job changed immeasurably and she had to immediately adapt and adjust to a new way of working.

Fiona, 50, said: “Part of my job as a speaker and business growth strategist means travelling around the world speaking to audiences about business transformation and growth.

"Obviously, the pandemic has stopped a lot of that.

"On the bright side it means I’ve been able to reach vaster audiences in far more countries about business opportunities.

"I’ve been on virtual platforms speaking to audiences as far away as Brazil and reached far more people than I would have done otherwise."

But Fiona, Managing Director of Lightbulb leadership solutions said a recent 'in person' conference, which she attended in Barcelona brought home what she was missing.

She added: "Just before Omicron really hit a couple of weeks ago I was able to be the keynote speaker at an in person global finance conference in Barcelona.

"And I have to say as much as I can make the most of any virtual opportunity, I got so much more from it.

"At a physical event you have the person-to-person connection and you can network and speak to people more informally, which is often when the most meaningful business relationships are formed.

"So of course, I’m looking forward to things settling down a bit more and being able to travel and speak more in person once again."
